And so to kick start my post Christmas painting I decided to do a few smaller portraits. I love painting people, and doing so on a canvas board (which feels less 'official') with very little, or no, gridding up is very liberating. I feel like carrying on in this way for a while to develop my method more, and of course to enjoy myself! My self portrait was completed in around 4 hours one afternoon whilst listening to the evidence given to the Parliament Human Rights Committee on the impact of Covid on Care Home residents and their families. Shocking listening, which obviously accounted for the expression on my face.
